Tips & tricks for Sumplete Daily 7x7
To get the fastest time possible in solving your Daily 7x7 games, here are a few techniques and reminders to help you become a better Sumplete player! However, it’s important to remember that there are no set processes or techniques that will work on every puzzle, so adjust accordingly and use the best strategies that work for you.Let’s use this sample 7x7 puzzle as a reference for our tips and tricks:
First time? Go try the Daily 5x5 first
If you’ve just stumbled upon Sumplete and decided to try the Daily 7x7 right off the bat, we recommend trying out the Daily 5x5 first. While the grid difference between 5x5 and 7x7 doesn’t look like much, the 7x7 is not recommended for Sumplete beginners, and the difficulty might immediately put off interested players.
It is a lot harder than it looks, and it might be too much for a newbie to chew on, so try the Daily 5x5, a puzzle made for most people, first to gauge your current skill level. If you can solve the 5x5 in under three minutes, then you’re ready to try the 7x7!
Target smaller sum clues first
Big sum clues need more number cells, more number cells mean a higher chance of error. While there’s no problem with taking on a trial-and-error style of solving, it can be a lot more frustrating to do in a grid this size.
Targeting smaller sum clues affords you better certainty, as it automatically eliminates the quantity of number cells that you need to work with and crosses off the ones that are too big for the row or column you’re working on. It’s also a great way to establish a starting point for your solving process.
Don’t rush by using big number cells
Most of the time, using a bunch of big number cells right away, like 9s and 8s, tends to lead to more problems down the line. While these big number cells can immediately land you the big sum clue for a row or column, it usually causes trouble for the other sum clues surrounding it.
We highly advise that you try using the smaller number cells first, like using 5 and 4 as replacements for the 9 you need, as it not only gives you the right value but also works in favor of the other sum clues
Click the sum clue to auto-mark
In a 7x7 grid like this, the secret auto-mark function can significantly improve your experience. Instead of manually clicking/tapping every number cell in your target row or column, just click/tap your target sum clue once you’ve properly marked the number cells you want to use.
This not only cuts down your run time, but also improves the overall solving experience as a whole.
We hope these were helpful to you as they were to us. Have fun and remember that the Daily 7x7 shouldn’t lead to frustration, but an enjoyable mental challenge!
